We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience – John Dewey
August seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye. I think its because we’ve been so busy this month with family visiting and lots of day trips out. It has been lovely! As you know at the start of every month I like to write out my personal and blogging goals for the month ahead and at the end of the month I like to have a recap. It’s always good to look back and reflect on the previous month and see where improvements can be made and where successes should be celebrated.
Twitter – Goal: 500 Actual: 511
Page Views – Goal: 350 Actual: 1000+
Instagram – Goal: 250 Actual: 198
Pinterest – Pin some posts & get to grips with Canva Actual: Good understanding of Canva and gaining traffic from Pinterest
As you can see, I absolutely smashed my goals this month with the exception of Instagram. I am over the moon with my page views for the month and they are still increasing as I write this. I am so proud of how well this month has gone for me. Pinterest has been a bit of a game changer for me. Once I understood how to use Canva and how to make eye catching pins, the rest was easy. I am just so pleased that I finally made it a priority and I really think it is going to pay off.
My page views are my biggest success this month. I think it is down to a couple of things – 1) Pinterest, 2) biting the bullet and posting links on my personal Facebook page and 3) scheduling promotional tweets. I find the process of scheduling tweets really fun. I try to make sure I have at least three tweets scheduled each day promoting different posts and this has really made a huge difference to my engagement and my views.

I am still managing to keep my steps up this month which I am really pleased with. I have had a few days where I have done over 20,000 steps which I think is amazing! Wearing a physical pedometer rather than relying on the health app on my phone has had a really positive effect too! Because it’s on my waist band all day it’s much more accurate and so much easier to quickly check my progress on.
I have written ‘needs improvement’ next to read more as I had actually totally forgotten I’d made this a goal. I have picked up a book a few times and I am halfway through one. However, I know that I could have done a lot better on this goal. I love reading so I need to put more effort into making the time for it.
How well did you do on your goals this month?
Love Laura xx
