In November, the trees are standing all sticks and bones. Without their leaves, how lovely they are, spreading their arms like dancers – Cynthia Rylant
A few years ago I would have described November as a nothing month. Nothing exciting happens. Halloween has been and gone and Christmas is just too far away. However last year that all changed. Last year November was long awaited, the most exciting month. The month EVERYTHING happened. November 2017 meant that I was going to have a baby. Emily made her appearance on the 26th November and that changed all the future Novembers too. Now it is such an exciting month that I wanted to share some of the things I’m looking forward to.
We booked a night away in Chester a few months ago as a bit of a test run of how Emily would be on an overnight stay. It was a success and she was amazing so we have booked 3 nights in Edinburgh in November! The train will take about 4 hours so I’ll be packing lots of things to keep Emily entertained. We are just so excited to have a change of scenery and spend some quality time together as a family.
Emily’s First Birthday
As I mentioned above, I will be Emilys first birthday at the end of the month. I feel so bittersweet about this, I don’t want my baby to grow so fast and this year has FLOWN by but, she has grown into such a clever little thing. She learned to walk at the end of last month so I’m excited to see her toddle about some more. We are actually away in Edinburgh for her birthday so I can’t wait to make memories celebrating and exploring.
Christmas is officially on its way. I posted my first Christmas based blog post this week and you’re only going to see more and more Christmas content from me! I need to get my family’s Christmas presents sorted before the start of December as my parents are visiting. I aim to give them the presents to take home so it saves postage for me. I’m one family member down, only 7 more to go!
I have a lot of plans this month to meet with friends to celebrate Emily’s birthday and also just for catch ups. We have a lot of meals out planned and some little shopping trips and I am so excited. I also want to get some dates set in the diary to meet up with my blogging pals! It’s lovely to catch up with friends and always makes me feel much more ‘Laura’ rather than just ‘mama’.
What things are you looking forward to this month? Let me know in the comments!
Love Laura xx
